About this online program
A 20-day online discovery program and resource for you to gently uncover and hold feelings within community.
The program will happen over 20 weekdays to build a strong new habit of connecting inward. Each day a new set of tarot images and questions will be sent via email for the duration of this discovery, and you will be invited to reflect about your experience within community.
Why the Tarot?
The tarot is heavily steeped in symbolic imagery. With so many decks available, we are then able to draw upon different experiences and traditions. So, the possibilities for connection are endless, offering a rich landscape for self-discovery.
Often times it’s hard to connect into what is really under the surface of how we are feeling. This program gives you more than one path to explore your rich emotional life. Through imagery, writing and creation we may uncover and sift emotions within us and invite curiousity around them.
At the beginning of each week there will be a five-minute video (fully transcribed) to introduce you to that week’s themes and potential discoveries.
You will have a choice of questions to choose from each day of the program. You can answer one or all, but you have to commit to exploration. Some sample questions include: what imagery/colour/symbol are you drawn to?; is there anything in the cards that you have an aversion toward?; why do you think that is?
Once you have the questions for the day, the stream of consciousness writing begins for 20 minutes. Big feelings coming up? Stop writing for a moment, be with those and let the clock continue; when you are able, write out what was happening for you, dig into the connections that prompted these feelings.
When you’re writing, If you make a mistake, keep on going. These are your reflections that no one else will see, so perfection is not required. It’ll actually be a useful habit to encourage on this journey as discovering feelings can be messy work.
The program will happen over 20 weekdays*. You’ll need to to set aside 20 minutes of reflective writing and at least another 10 minutes for sharing within the group on each program day. There will also be creative exercises that are optional along the way.
To introduce each weeks themes, there will be a five-minute video. To close the program off, you will also be able to engage in a final online community gathering. There, Phill will lead participants through a reflection and guide the group to share connections and learnings from the program.
*How you break up your weekdays is up to you! It is common for some folks to work on weekends or in shifts. Just make sure you can commit to five days each week to help build momentum in this discovery process. Planning ahead as much as you can will create an impactful container for this work.
There are currently two start dates for this program:
- January 4 to 29, 2021
- January 18 to February 12, 2021.
